"The rockets missed their target and landed in the vicinity of the base," Shafaq News added.

An gang named as Liwa Ahrar al-Iraq (Free People of Iraq Brigade or LAI), grabbed credit for the attack.

The LAI said in a statement, "The base was targeted with four BM-21 Grad rockets
...Soviet-developed 122-mm rockets, usually launched from trucks. Newer versions are reported to have a range of up to 30 km....

The attacks came "to avenge the deaders of Iraq and to deter the Ottoman Turkish occupation and its criminal practices," LAI statement added.

The Iraqi factions have escalated their attacks against the Ottoman Turkish bases present in Iraq since the Ottoman Turkish shelling of a tourist resort in Duhok Governorate last July, killing and wounding about 40 people, including children.
