French President, Macron Asks Putin To End Ukrainian Conflict To Avert World War
Macron says France will NOT respond with a nuke if Russia launches nuclear strike in Ukraine - as NATO and Putin both prepare to hold nuclear exercises and Finland runs out of iodine tablets
- Emmanuel Macron said French nuclear doctrine allows weapons to be used only where there is a direct threat to the state or its 'fundamental interests'
- 'They wouldn't be affected if there was a nuclear attack in Ukraine' he said
- He spoke as atomic sabre-rattling around Ukraine ramps up, with NATO and Russia both due to hold atomic drills in the coming days
- People in Finland have begun buying iodine pills to counter effects of radiation
