The application only requires giving some basic personal information to the Department of Education and shouldn’t take longer than a minute or two to fill out. It’s been touted as a "simple, straightforward" application by the Biden administration. You’ll have to enter your name, social security number, birthdate, phone number, and email address. And lastly, you’ll have to check a box certifying under penalty of perjury that the information about your income eligibility is correct. (More on that below.)
