WHERE is the Rust justice? Exactly one year after Alec Baldwin fatally shot Halyna Hutchins, FEMAIL investigates why there are STILL no charges - or even sheriff's report - as filming gets set to resume... with late cinematographer's widower as a producer
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Seems like a payoff settlement was reached.
  • It has now been exactly one year since Alec Baldwin, 64, accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Hutchins on set of his movie Rust - and after 365 days, no charges have been made in relation to the tragic shooting

  • On October 21, 2021, Baldwin and Hutchins were rehearsing a scene for the Western film when he pointed a 'prop firearm' at her and it accidentally went off - hitting the 42-year-old in the chest and killing her

  • The actor has continuously insisted that he thought the gun was loaded with blanks and that he never actually pulled the trigger - but the FBI has since ruled that the weapon could not have fired on its own

  • The incident posed a lot of questions - why was the gun loaded with real bullets? How did it go off? Why wasn't more done to ensure the crew's safety? And why hasn't anyone been arrested for Hutchins death?

  • Over the course of the last 12 months, very little of these questions have been answered; and now, the District Attorney's office told DailyMail.com that they're 'still waiting' for the Santa Fe County Sheriff's report

  • It was recently announced that production of Rust will restart in early 2023, with Hutchins' husband joining as a producer; he previously filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the movie but has reached a settlement
"Ya know what would really honor my wife's memory? Make me an Executive Producer and give me a lot of money. Whatshername would want it that way"
