[Technology.org] It took just a single incorrect answer from Google’s new AI chatbot named Bard to drive the company’s shares down by 8%.The incorrect answer, in fact, was shown in the ad that was first released on Monday and was intended to demonstrate one of the most important capabilities of the new artificial intelligence-based platform. The AI chatbot error was first publicized by Reuters. The question that was answered by the Bard chatbot was about which satellite first took pictures of a planet outside the Earth’s solar system. The ad consisted of a short GIF video demonstrating the operation of Bard. The error was noticed a few hours before the official Bard’s launch event in Paris. Today, Alphabet’s (Google parent company) shares were traded 8% lower compared to their earlier price. This means a loss of about $100 billion in terms of total value.
