Louisville Bank Shooting'5 Dead 8 Injured Including 2 Police Officers
[MSN] At least six others, including a police officer, were transferred to a local hospital, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department. Police said by midmorning the suspected shooter had been "neutralized."

Paul Humphrey, deputy chief of the police department, said officers arrived at the scene shortly after a report of shots fired and a possible active shooter at around 8:30 a.m. local time at Old National Bank, a regional bank located along the 300 block of East Main Street. Active gunfire continued inside the building as officers arrived, Mr. Humphrey said. The bank’s lobby wasn’t scheduled to open until 9 a.m., according to its website.

The shooter was declared dead at the scene. Mr. Humphrey said police "do not know exactly the circumstances of his death."

Mr. Humphrey said there was no danger to the public. "This is an ongoing investigation," he said.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said earlier Monday he was heading to Louisville after police confirmed the shooting.

"Please pray for all of the families impacted and for the city of Louisville," he said in a tweet.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg told residents to avoid the area near Louisville Slugger Field, citing the active police situation.

"We will provide information as soon as possible," he said in a tweet.
