1975 Soviet Film: They Fought for the Motherland
This is a typical Soviet war flick about WWII, directed by Sergey Bondarchuk, based on a novel by Soviet novelist Mikhail Sholokhov.It is set in southern Russia during the great retreats to Stalingrad. The film is about a Soviet rifle regiment cut down 90 percent by constant fighting. This presentation has English subtitles, but doesn't allow for embedding.
