Sharon pronounces Oslo accords dead, complains of stench...
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon drew more Palestinian anger when he said in a newpaper interview that the 1993 Oslo accords which set up Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority were dead. "Oslo doesn't exist any more," Sharon told Maariv daily, adding that other key arrangement made in subsequent negotiations had also become dead letters. Statement of the Obvious Alert! Arafat's top aide, Nabil Abu Rudeina, told AFP: "Sharon's words will only strengthen the state of paralysis and political stagnation which dominate the region and drag the region into more tensions."
