US intelligence assessment says Iran not currently developing nuclear weapons
Oddly enough, that's exactly what the CIA’s assessment was in 2003 and subsequent years, up until Prime Minister Netanyahu stood up in front of the UN General Assembly and showed the world what the Mossad had liberated from Iran’s nuclear weapon development archive in Tehran. Perhaps what the Director of National Intelligence means is that while Iran was working on that a minute ago, and will be working on it a minute from now, during this exact minute they are not doing any such thing. The fact that right now they’re on their lunch break is immaterial to the point in question. The assessment from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence says Iran has moved to increase its capacity to produce an atomic bomb since 2020, but has stopped short of that so far.They have? Then why do they keep buying more centrifuges, centrifuges that are more efficient and therefore capable of more quickly refining uranium in ever larger quantities? The findings correspond with previous US assessments about Iran’s nuclear program, although many in Congress and elsewhere have been skeptical of those.I do believe Rantburg counts as elsewhere... "Iran is not currently undertaking the key nuclear weapons-development activities that would be necessary to produce a testable nuclear device," according to the two-page unclassified synopsis of the report. Have your spies checked out what’s going on in those other sites in the Netanyahu report, or does this just refer to the sites Iran has admitted to and allowed the IAEA to inspect? However,some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them... Iran is also pursuing "research and development activities that would bring it closer to producing the fissile material needed for completing a nuclear device following a decision to do so," the report says.
