Turkish border guards shot Syrian woman, arrest others
[NPASyria] On Friday, Ottoman Turkish border guards shot a Syrian woman and arrested six men while trying to cross the border the Ottoman Turkish territory.

The incident took place in Alouk, a village lies on the west of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in the north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, a local source told North Press.

The guards shot a woman, injuring her, and arrested other six men and took them to Urfa province, the source added.

Most of those who try to enter Ottoman Turkish territory resort to dangerous smuggling routes to reunite their families or get a job opportunity to meet their needs, especially in light of poor living and economic conditions people suffer from in northwestern Syria.

Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, have been under the occupation of the Ottoman Turkish forces since 2019 following the so-called "Peace Spring" military operation that aimed to push away the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) under the pretext of protecting the Ottoman Turkish national security.
