Simply 'orrible attack on U.S. forces at Gardez...
U.S. forces came under rocket attack in eastern Afghanistan today, a day after the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States. Colonel Roger King, a spokesman at Bagram air base north of Kabul, said one rocket landed 400 meters north of the U.S. special forces base at Gardez and another in a small village to the northwest. There were no reported casualties. He said the rockets were fired from nearly half a mile away, the maximum effective range of the Russian-made weapons.
