First plane of US aid for Gaza arrives in Egypt

[IsraelTimes] The first of three planned US military relief flights carrying food, medical supplies and winter gear has landed in Egypt, as Washington steps up humanitarian aid to the Strip.The Air Force C-17 aircraft landed in Egypt with 24.5 metric tons (54,000 pounds) of medical supplies and ready-to-eat food, the US Agency for International Development says. "With 1.7 million people internally displaced and 2.2 million in need of humanitarian assistance, increased humanitarian supplies are essential to saving lives and alleviating suffering for the most vulnerable," USAID says in a statement.
