No attacks on US troops in Iraq, Syria since truce, Pentagon says
[IsraelTimes] Near-daily attacks on US forces in Iraq and Syria have stopped since a truce between Israel and Hamas ...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...went into effect last week, the Pentagon says. American forces in the two countries have been targeted with rockets and drones more than 70 times since mid-October — a surge in violence the United States has blamed on Iran-backed forces. "There have been no attacks on US forces in Iraq and Syria since November 23, since the operational pause began," Pentagon front man Brigadier General Pat Ryder tells journalists. The attacks have caused injuries to dozens of American personnel — who are in Iraq and Syria as part of efforts to prevent a resurgence of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more.
