Fed Reserve: No change in rates now, probably won't change them in March
[Barrons] The Federal Reserve kicked off the year in neutral, opting to keep interest rates unchanged at a meeting of its policy-setting committee on Wednesday.
The call, which was widely expected and unanimous, keeps the target range for the federal-funds rate at 5.25%-5.50%...
Despite markets anxiously awaiting rate cuts, the Federal Reserve is unlikely to start easing monetary policy at the next meeting of its policy-setting committee, in March.
"I will tell you that I don't think it's likely that the committee will reach a level of confidence by the time of the March meeting to identify March is the time to do [rate cuts]," Powell said Wednesday. He added that a March cut is "not the most likely" or "base case" scenario.

so a rate cut maybe in May; maybe (the market is pretty sure of this, I'm not)
