Two law enforcement officers shot in Salina, NY
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Syracuse police officer and an Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy were shot on Sunday evening, April 14, in the Town of Salina.The two officers shot were seriously injured and are in critical condition at Upstate Hospital, said Onondaga County Sheriff Toby Shelley. The shooting took place in the area of Darien Drive around 8:15 p.m. One person at the house where the shooting happened was injured, and one person is in custody, Shelley said. There is no direct threat to the community, and the area is secured, according to Shelley. Shelley said the officers were originally responding to a stolen vehicle in Syracuse, which led them to the house in Salina. The Sheriff’s Office is waiting on a warrant to search the house.
