Possible light Snow in Sierra for 24 Aug
MercuryNews] With a drop in temperatures and a chance of showers expected Friday and Saturday, snow could fall as low as 8,000 feet elevation from the Tahoe area south to Mammoth Lakes.
Yosemite's Tioga Pass, at 9,943 feet, has a 43% chance of 0.1 inch of snow and Tuolumne Meadows a 34% chance, the agency's Hanford office said.
Also high enough for a trace of snow are Mount Rose summit, Carson Pass near Kirkwood, and Monitor and Sonora passes. The chance of precip is around 40% Friday and Saturday.
I assume this is noteworthy because it is unusually early in the season for snow, even that high up. | And drops the fire danger unless there's dry lightning
