Japan: N. Korea Abductee Killed Herself
North Korea has confirmed that Megumi Yokota, a Japanese woman abducted by communist spies when she was 13 committed suicide at a Pyongyang mental hospital while being treated for depression. North Korea revealed the circumstances surrounding the woman's 1993 death and the fates of a dozen other Japanese abductees to a fact-finding mission that returned to Japan on Tuesday, deputy Cabinet spokesman Shinzo Abe said. She is said to have been survived by a teenage daughter in North Korea, and the mission returned with some of the girl's hair for DNA tests. The mission also brought back a picture of Megumi as an adult.
She'd been kidnapped by North Korean thugs, kept a prisoner and forced to act against the interests of her own country. What'd she have to be depressed about?
Another kidnap victim was said to be alive and married to a former U.S. serviceman.
He's a 60's leftover, who decided he'd like being a Communist and deserted...
