Amazon customers are rushing to buy a tiny two-bedroom house that costs less than a used Ford Focus
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A tiny home has appeared for sale on Amazon for less money than a standard car.
The two-bedroom mobile home - with an open-plan living room and kitchen, and bathroom including a toilet and shower - costs $19,000.
The pre-fabricated home, mostly made of metal, is framed by a cozy fenced-in porch with stairs leading up to the front door.
It is also equipped with plumbing and electricity, as well as a water heater.
The house, made by Emonia, comes with wind protection, fire protection, earthquake resistance, sun protection and rain and moisture resistance, according to the Amazon listing.
The small home, costing less than a new Mitsubishi Mirage, may be a tempting option as home prices continue to hit all time highs.
Around 64 percent of American adults own their own home, according to the Federal Reserve.
This figure falls to 36 percent for those who make $50,000 a year or less.
The current 30-year fixed mortgage rate is around 5.8 percent which can also present barriers to buying a more traditional home.
See the Amazon listing here. It’s #8 in tiny house kits. |
