US strikes ISIS camps in Syria: CENTCOM

US forces "conducted a series of airstrikes against multiple known ISIS camps in Syria in the early morning of Oct. 11," Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on X. "The strikes will disrupt the ability of ISIS to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against the United States, its allies and partners, and civilians throughout the region," the statement said. According to CENTCOM’s assessments, there were no civilian casualties. No details were provided on the precise location of the strikes. Around 900 American troops in Syria are part of an international coalition supporting the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against ISIS in the country. Last month, the US military announced two airstrikes killed 37 ISIS and al-Qaeda affiliate Hurras al-Din members and leaders in Syria. Days prior, a "large-scale" US airstrike on an ISIS training camp in central Syria killed "at least 28 ISIS operatives, including at least four big shots," according to CENTCOM.
