Shootout kills one at Pakistan polls
A shootout at a polling station in southern Pakistan left one person dead Thursday, a government official said, as the country held its first election since a 1999 coup ended democratic rule. The gunfight between loyalists of rival political parties in Nawabshah also injured at least two others, Home Secretary Brig. Mukhtar Ahmed said.
