Congress Passes Elimination of Two Pension Restrictions
[FederalNewsNetwork] The Senate passed the Social Security Fairness Act to deliver higher Social Security benefits to millions of public sector retirees.
The bill now heads to President Joe Biden's desk for a signature after the Senate cleared the legislation just after midnight on Saturday by a vote of 70-26.
The House previously passed the bill in November.

This will raise the social security payments to hundreds of thousands of retired State and Federal retirees. A typical beneficiary of this law is a person who put in 20 years for the military then retired from the military and did almost the same as their last military job by being a contractor for 10 more years. A lot of these people will be getting $500-1500 more each month from social security.
