New Orleans Facing Potential Historic Snowstorm
NewnORLEANS (WVUE) - Southeast Louisiana is bracing for a rare and highly impactful winter storm expected to bring freezing temperatures, ice, accumulating snow, and major travel disruptions.
Monday is the last day to prepare for the storm. You should be ready to shelter in place beginning Monday night as the storm will move in quickly around daybreak Tuesday.
Heavy snow will pick up through Tuesday morning with snow lasting through the day. Multiple inches of accumulations are expected
The NOPD and Louisiana State Police said road closures on Interstate 10, I-510, I-310, all ramps leading to US 90 and elevated bridges will begin Tuesday at 4:00 a.m. The DOTD also will begin closures in Jefferson and St. Charles parishes at 4 a.m. Motorists are strongly encouraged to shelter in place.

Not just New Orleans, a long stretch of the I-10 corridor is under this threat. Could be the worst snow storm since 1895 when the city got 1NEW 0". As of a few minutes ago, New Orleans was at 28F with snow and visibility down to less than half a mile.
