Abdullah hangs it up in Kashmir...
Farooq Abdullah, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said he was unwilling to continue serving until the parties who defeated his own in elections last week agreed on who would lead the new government.
"Screw 'em! I can't be chief minister, then I QUIT!"
As a result, G. C. Saxena, the centrally appointed governor will run the state temporarily. Mr. Saxena asked Abdullah to stay on as a caretaker at least until Monday to give the Indian National Congress and the People's Democratic Party more time to agree on who will be the next chief minister. Mr. Abdullah, saying he had no "moral right" to continue serving, refused.
"They won't let me be in charge, I ain't playing!"
