Somali Forces Launch Operations Against Al-Shabaab in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle Regions
[ShabelleMedia] Somali National Army and allied militia forces have launched coordinated operations in the Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions targeting al-Shabaab bully boys, military sources confirmed on Saturday.The security offensive focuses on areas between Ceel Hareeri in Hiiraan and Aadan Yabaal in Middle Shabelle, with particular attention on the Mabaax area, where bully boy activity remains a concern. Government forces recently regained control of small areas near Aadan Yabaal district and are working to consolidate their hold, aiming to restore state authority in the area. Simultaneously, operations continue in Middle Shabelle and Lower Shabelle regions as part of broader efforts to weaken al-Shabaab’s presence.
