Man Killed in Southern Jordan Riots
Clashes between police and rioters left one person dead and several injured Sunday in the volatile southern city of Maan, potentially a source of unrest if the United States attacks neighboring Iraq.Which is why it's boiling now... The violence began when a mob angry about the arrest of a youth attacked a police vehicle, officials said. Police said the youth had thrown stones at a patrol car. Later, crowds attacked police, firing guns at the officers, officials said. Police returned fire, killing one man. Several people were wounded, two of them critically, according to a doctor at the city hospital. I don't think I'm going to send them get-well cards... A curfew was clamped on the city.
