U.S. sez it'll follow bad guys into Pakland...
With U.S. forces coming under increasing fire along the Afghan-Pakistani border, a military spokesman said today that the United States reserves the right to pursue Taliban and al Qaeda guerrillas into Pakistan. "U.S. forces acknowledge the internationally recognized boundaries of Afghanistan but may pursue attackers who attempt to escape into Pakistan to evade capture or retaliation," Maj. Stephen Clutter said here at the military base that serves as headquarters for U.S. and allied troops in Afghanistan.I don't imagine we'll actually do it, but this is a nice message to Perv â and more importantly to the fundos â not to screw around. It's also a response to the fundos' latest round of FOLLOWUP: Pakistan has denied that the US has been given the right to pursue Taleban and al-Qaeda suspects fleeing across its border from Afghanistan. Pakistan's Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told the BBC that American forces could not cross the border from Afghanistan in hot pursuit. On Friday, US forces in Afghanistan said they have the right to pursue suspected enemy forces across the border into Pakistan if necessary and that Pakistan was aware of this. Despite its firm resistance to the plan the Pakistani authorities did pledge that Islamabad would continue to support the US-led coalition in Afghanistan. Just as it's been doing...
