Bashir's trip to Teheran is off...
Syrian President Bashar Assad's planned visit to Iran has been called off at the last minute, Iranian government officials said Wednesday. No reason was given for the sudden change of plan. Assad had been due to arrive in Tehran Wednesday to hold talks with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Mohammad Khatami and other senior officials to discuss regional issues including Iraq and Palestine. "The visit has been canceled," a senior government official, who asked not to be named, told Reuters.Hmmmm... Kind of an abrupt statement, isn't it?
