Only Πzakat received
Quoted by daily Pakistan, Punjab religion minister Sarwar Qadri said in November 2002 that only one-fourth of the zakat disbursed actually reached the poor while the rest was all eaten up (harap) by the central zakat council and its provincial branches. He said the only way to solve the problem was to prevent the zakat collection from going to the centre. Zakat should be disbursed by the provinces, he said. All that money...
