A SUSPECTED leader of a terrorist group headed by Osama bin Laden is to be quizzed by United States federal agents after being arrested at Heathrow on the same day as last week's airliner attacks. Mufti Mohammed Khan, who security sources suspect is the second-in-command of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (Army of Mohammed), flew in from New York only a couple of hours after the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon were hit. He is now being returned to New York for questioning by the FBI, which has described Jaish-e-Mohammed as one of the most dangerous terrorist cells in the world. It is a banned organisation in Britain and is a prime suspect as the group behind the attacks in New York and Washington. Its leaders have declared war on all US citizens. |
