A Palestinian truck exploded in northern Ramallah just before US envoy General Anthony Zinni's convoy was to pass by on his way to a meeting with Arafat. The driver was killed in the explosion. There were no other casualties. After an investigation, both the IDF and the Palestinians eventually agreed the blast was an accident.
