The governors of Balochistan, Punjab and the NWFP will shortly promulgate ordinances on compulsory primary education. The federal ministry of education had asked the educational ministries of the three provinces to promulgate the ordinance as early as possible. The move would create an influx of students at the primary level in the country. Under the law, it will be compulsory for the parents, except in case of a genuine excuse, to send their children to primary schools.
That would seem calculated to undermine the madrassah system. The Saudis might have to find some other way to inculcate the suicide bomber philosophy into the little kiddies. |
