| Reformist accuses US of wanting to impose change |

| The head of a recently banned Iranian opposition group accused the United States of wanting to impose change on Iran, in remarks published Thursday. No! Not that! Never...! "The United States are seeking change. It is likely they will close the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to harm Iran and block its oil exports, because cutting oil revenue will aggravate the situation," Ebrahim Yazdi, 70, told a meeting of students. "We must find a solution from inside the system, while the enemies want solutions from the outside of the system." Yazdi heads the reformist Iran Freedom Movement (IFM). Sounds like he's being piously patriotic so he doesn't get sent to jail with the current lot of jugged reformers... |
