| Israeli army nabs eight suspected militants in West Bank |

| The Israeli army arrested eight suspected Palestinian militants in and around the northern West Bank city of Nablus. In Balata refugee camp, troops captured four brothers from the radical Islamist group Hamas and two other brothers from Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction. "They wuz just workin' the family business, and they got arrested for no reason!" "What business was that?" "Explosives." Clashes erupted in the camp during the arrests but there were no immediate reports of any injuries. "No! No! You shan't have our gunnies!" An Israeli helicopter also opened fire for no apparent reason on Jacob's Well, a Greek Orthodox convent on the edge of the Balata camp. Father Justinos Mamalas told AFP that bullets had damaged the walls of his convent, which had already been targeted by an Israeli gunship at the beginning of the intifada, or uprising, two years ago. Damn them! Two more suspected Hamas militants were arrested in the nearby village of Jammayin, witnesses said. Hmmm... Fairly close to the convent, huh? Like, with a path leading through the back yard? |
