Tiger mauls French tourists in central India
2003-03-30
Not really relevant but I thought Rantburg might want to adopt the Tiger
Two French tourists were among three people mauled by an angry tiger in a forest reserve in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, forest officials said on Sunday.

#10  I've been waiting all day for one of you guys to say it, but I guess I have to;

Reaction of the tiger:

"It tastes like Chicken!"

or
" is it red or white wine with you french tourist"?

#9  Aw c'mon! Cheeze! I hate Chirac and de Villepin and the whole French political and intellectual class too but don't you think that gloating about some unfortunate tourists on Safari in India is going just a teeny bit too far?! Children! Behave!

If you want to blast the French, keep the fire directed at people like Jose Bove or some movie director, or Le Monde writer or whatever.

#7  Any chance we can get Michael Moore to make a documentary on tigers in a certain forest reserve in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh?

Feed a tiger a frog, you feed it for a day.

Feed a Tiger Mr. Moore, and you feed him for a lifetime...

#2  I wish to object to the use of the word "tiger" in this story. It is merely alledged that it was a "tiger". The story itself is both sexist, in referring to the alledged "tiger" as female, as well as colonial in tone for referring to the alledged "tiger" as angry.

If there was in actuality a tiger attack, it would be entirely justified as a purely defensive measure designed to protest the humanist oppression of non humans, including tigers, in the region. Tigers are a peaceful folk, with ancient rituals and practices that predate mankind. They are worthy of respect, nay, adoration. My own personal tigers resent the implications in this story and demand that Reuters issue an apology to freedom loving tigers everywhere.

In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
