Kuwait asks Arab League to condemn Iraq missile attacks
2003-03-30
Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (Majlis al-Umma) Jasem al-Kharafi asked Saturday that the Arab League to take a more aggressive stance on Iraqi missile attacks by condemning them.
Figger the odds on that happening...
The Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) quoted Al-Kharafi as saying that Kuwait has always believed that (no country) could trust the ruling regime in Iraq. He expressed he hope the war could be concluded at the earliest possible time and the Iraqi people would be free. The Kuwaiti speaker lashed out at the Arab League stance, saying the league's stance seeks to fan the flame of disagreements between Arab countries. A small number of countries including the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and other member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council have condemned the Iraqi missile attacks on Kuwait over the past 10 days.

#2  I don't think the Arab League has gotten around yet to condemning the missile attacks from the last war...

#1  But the action of not condemning the attack helps clarify "arab unity" doesn't it? Just as much as supporting Saddam, who has killed more Muslims in a year than Israel has ever done in all the wars....
