Leading Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah on Friday held the United States to blame for the spread of terrorism across the Arab and Islamic worlds. He said the Americans had nurtured the terrorism phenomenon right from the start through their âblind support for Israel.â He urged all those who want to launch suicide attacks to do so in the West Bank and Gaza, where suicide operations are legitimate because they are launched against an enemy that is occupying Arab land.
