Singapore opened a terrorism research centre on Friday to train law enforcement officials to combat terror and maintain a regional database aimed at preventing future attacks. âKnowledge is key,â said Singaporeâs Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng at the centreâs opening. The International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research is staffed by 16 researchers from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America. The centre will maintain a computer database of terrorists and other documents collected from Southeast Asia and Afghanistan.
I imagine Singapore will make it work well, too. |
