| #19 Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery to Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But, as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York; the ship hit an iceberg, sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. This National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th... and is known....of course....as....... Sinko de Mayo Sorry.... just had to post it :^) |

| #15 Y'all leave the French alone. Theys lovers, not fighters - but that don't mean theys sissies. The French is important in the international community, and you caint say theys dumb - why theys a permanent member of the Security Counsel of the United Nations. Folks look up to them for help with what they call the "nuances of diplomacy." That's where theys at their best. |

| #14 BigEd In 1918 German's revolution in infantry tactics allowed them to smash the British front and put the British Expeditionary Force on the verge of anihilation. They were saved by massive French reinforcements, not the opposite. :-) |

| #9 The French haven't been a world power since Napoleon lost at Waterloo after wasting his army on a Russian winter. That's why, in 1918, we and the Brits pulled their asses out of the fire, and again in 1945. They are so self-conscious about this and deny the truth. The Mexicans knew that Frenchman Maxmillian, in the end, was a carpetbagging paper tiger, and finally got enough of him, and sent him to that great cheese & wine party in the sky. Hence we have today - Celebrating a French Defeat. |
