| A long article from the Boston Globe. Really worth reading in full. I’m excerpting from the beginning of the article that (I think) shows that weapons are getting harder to come by... The sharp rap on the closed shutter of the young man’s bedroom came a little after midnight. It brought him bolt upright. It was Hamas. Members of the Islamic extremist group said they knew he had received a weapon from the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. They wanted to "borrow" it. The 19-year-old denied he had a gun, and refused to give up other gear, given to him by Islamic Jihad, another militant group. Angry words were exchanged, but eventually the Hamas members departed, leaving the grandson of Palestinian refugees in the same torment and confusion he has been in since the dawn of his manhood, at the beginning of the nearly four-year-long war between Israel and the Palestinians.
