LAHORE: Pakistan is enjoying favourable geo-strategic position in the world, according to speakers at a seminar at the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU). The university, on its silver jubilee celebrations, arranged the seminar titled "Emerging Scenario — Domestic, Regional and International — in 2005" in collaboration with the Pakistan National Forum on Saturday. Senator SM Zafar said Liaqat Ali Khan, the first prime minister, had been invited by Washington and Moscow, General Ayub Khan signed CETO and SENTO, General Yahya Khan played a key role in the China-United States rapprochement, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto presided the world Islamic conference in Lahore and General Ziaul Haq fought the war of Afghanistan. He stressed the role of the South Asian Association Regional Conference. He added domestic sustainability was important to maintain every country's image abroad. "People of Pakistan have democratic values but lack techniques of democracy," he said. |
