A US Navy helicopter has crashed on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, while on a mission to bring aid to victims of the tsunami disaster. Four people are reported injured, after the Seahawk helicopter crashed near Banda Aceh airport on Monday morning. There were no fatalities among the 10 people on board, according to local media reports. The crash happened at 0715 local time (0015 GMT) outside Banda Aceh, which is the hub for transporting vital aid to people in remote parts of the region. The SH-60 Seahawk helicopter had been flying in personnel from the USS Abraham Lincoln battle group, which is based off the Sumatra coast. It crashed into a rice paddy not far from its normal landing site. An AFP agency reporter at the scene said the machine appeared to be intact but its rotor blades were damaged.
