The department said it had received information that Al Qaeda, Egyptian Islamic Jihad and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan resented Libya's restoration of diplomatic ties with the US and Britain after the Libyan government handed over two men responsible for blowing up an American Airlines plane with 300 passengers on board, sources said. Libyan diplomats informed the Pakistani Foreign Office of the development and requested protection, they added. The Foreign Office asked the Interior Ministry to take appropriate security measures. |
