Authorities said a Texas man told agents at Detroit Metropolitan Airport that he was headed to Syria to try to claim the $25-million bounty on Osama bin Laden. Syria? Boy, I never would have thought of looking there! | He was arrested on charges of making false statements to federal investigators. They can't take a joke, but they can arrest the joker | Matt Mihsen, of Sansom Park, boarded a Northwest Airlines flight in Dallas on Tuesday en route to Detroit, the Netherlands and Syria, according to a federal criminal complaint. Customs and Border Protection officers questioned him at the Detroit airport. Mihsen, a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Syria, told agents he was on his way to the Middle East to investigate the illegal sale of uranium by extremists. So, he's Syrian living in Texas, not a native Texan. |
