‘Terrorist’ killed in shootout with police in Tangail
July 25: An alleged terrorist was killed and five policemen were injured in a shootout between the cops and a gang of terrorists at Bazitpur in the town early today. The deceased was identified as Minhaz Uddin, 42, chief of ‘Bhut Bahini’ in Tangail.
Police said Minhaz and his accomplices opened fire on them (cops) as they encircled them in the area while they were taking liquor, triggering a gunfight.
"It's da law! Here, hold my beer. Take that, coppers!"
Minhaz was struck by bullets during the firefight as he tried to flee.
"Ouch..ouch..ouch!
He died on the spot

One SMG, a magazine and two lethal weapons were recovered from the spot after the gunfight.

Police said Minhaz, a resident of Thanapara in the town, was wanted in 18 cases, including four of murders. His body was handed over to his family members after autopsy.

Another AK-47 rifle recovered in Bandarban
BANDARBAN, July 25:–BDR today seized another AK-47 rifle along with ammunition from the deep forest of Naikhangchhari upazila here, says BSS. Members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) also destroyed a hidden den of terrorists during a special drive in Baishari Union in inaccessible Alekhang hills, officials said.
Guess it wasn't that hidden and inaccessible
BDR recovered five AK-47 rifles and huge quantity of bullets and other equipment from the same area on July 16 last after a fierce fight with the terrorists.

BDNEWS adds from Khagrachhari - A fierce fighting between the army personnel and the terrorists took place in the deep forest at Massang-Sajek of bordering Baghai Haat in the district early Monday. The army recovered military equipments and ammunitions and documents including 15 rounds of bullet left by the terrorists. But no casualty was reported so far. Security force sources said when one of their patrol team reached the spot at about 2:30 pm, terrorists opened fire on them sensing their presence. The terrorists retreated and disappeared into the jungle through a trench when the patrol team retaliated with gunfire.
"Ooops, time to flee.."
Eventually the army demolished the den of the terrorists.

Woman held with bombs, firearms
The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered two powerful bombs weighing one Kg each and nabbed a woman in this connection in a seven-hour drive conducted at North Shahjahanpur in the city yesterday.
The arrested woman was identified as Shammi Huq alias Mukta (30), wife of Sk Mohammad Harun-ur-Rashid and a resident of North Shahjahanpur under Khilgaon police station. She hails from Khulna.

According to RAB sources, acting on a tip off a team of RAB-3 arrested an arms trader from a five-storied house at 215 North Shahjahanpur yesterday. Following her confessional statement RAB personnel recovered a revolver loaded with four rounds of bullet from a drawer of an almirah, recovered two powerful bombs wrapped with black scotch tape from under the cot, a photo album of naked women and "an important diary."
I'm sure they'll check out the diary, after they get done with the photo album. Might take awhile
RAB personnel also seized her mobile phone set. RAB personnel suspected that the bombs were made with local ingredients and by local people.

A high official in RAB said that they were keeping watch on arrested Shammi for the last fifteen days. The woman sold a huge cache of arms two days ago, he added. Following her arrest, she was heard telephoning influential people to save her now that they had thrown her into trouble.
"Hello, hello, no wait, don't put me on hold, dammit!"
The RAB personnel handed the arrested woman to Motijheel police station yesterday.
Hope she doesn't have any arms cached in any dark alleys


Fake currency recovered-10 criminals held by RAB
A special squad of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 10 active members of a notorious crime syndicate along with its boss raiding a secret den of criminals at the city's posh residential area at DOHS on Sunday late night.
Wonder if you need a secret password to get into the secret den?

The RAB also recovered a huge amount of cash including some fake currencies, gold ornaments and some foreign liquors worth about Taka about 7 lakh from their possessions. Acting on a tip-off, the members of RAB-1 arrested the leader of a crime syndicate Md. Zahangir Alam of Goplaganj conducting an operation at House No-206, Road No-2, DOHS (Defence Officers Housing Society) under Cantonment police station.

Later, according to the confessional statement of Zahangir Alam, the members of RAB-1 arrested Nurul Islam, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Shahajahan, Moazzem, Ratan, Ruhul Amin, Mostafizur alias Faisal, Md. Sohel, Kafil Uddin and Abdus Sattar conducting an operation at another hidden den of criminals at Baridhara. RAB recovered a cash of Taka 4,59,00 7 tolas of gold ornaments worth about Taka 60, 000, 16 Saudi Riyal and 35 forged notes of Taka 500 from their possession.
But not one single crossfire, dammit!
