WASHINGTON - The Pentagon said on Saturday it had released a detainee at the US military camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for transfer to Egypt. The Egyptian detainee was âfound no longer to be an enemy combatantâ by a military tribunal, the US Department of Defense said in a statement.The Pentagon said 247 prisoners have been released or transferred and about 505 remain in detention. âDuring the course of the war on terrorism, the department expects that there will be other transfers or releases of detainees,â the statement said.
