Five people were killed in Afghanistan in an earthquake near the Pakistan border on Sunday, as fresh aftershocks rattled Kashmir. An aftershock with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 rattled Pakistan’s quake zone, but there were no immediate reports of damages or injuries. The quake was centred about 140 kilometres north of Islamabad in Kashmir, according to the United States Geological Survey in Golden, Colorado, AP reported.The aftershock was also felt in Srinagar, but there were no reports of casualties, police said. People rushed out of mosques and homes as they felt the quake, AFP reported. A tremor measuring 2.5 was also felt in the Defence and Clifton areas of Karachi around Iftar time.
