#1 Since when have they officially been maintaining systematic scientific records with any ability to track depressions originating off the African/Atlantic region? My guess since satellite imagry has been available. Prior to that, it was hit or miss as ship records were rolled up to provide information on local conditions. So the real record is rather short to draw 'historical' conclusions. |
