GILGIT: The Northern Areas police said on Saturday that they have arrested four members of an extremist organisation for the murder of Shia leader Agha Ziauddin Rizvi on January 8, 2005. Sources told Daily Times that the four men belonged to the banned Lashkar-e-Janghvi. A police team conducted 'a successful raid on a tip-off and arrested Nawab Alam, Akhtar Jan, Abdul Sadiq and Muhammad Anwer alias Moaviya'. The arrests were made on Saturday morning. The accused were declared proclaimed offenders in June last year and Rs 1.5 million were offered for information on their whereabouts. He said that the accused were arrested without any resistance.
