Unidentified people on Sunday shot dead an official at the Tehsil office in Jandola area of the South Waziristan tribal region, sources said. The attackers stormed the Jandola checkpost and entered the Tehsil office, killing Sultan Khan, a head muharrir. According to sources, the attack on the security forces official could have been provoked by a personal enmity. The political administration was investigating the incident, they added. In a separate incident, unidentified people attacked security forces fort in North Waziristan, adding that no fatalities had been incurred. They said that five rockets were fired at the fort from nearby mountains in Datta Khel, near the Pakistan border with Afghanistan.
