Eighteen Iraqis wounded in Baghdad violence |

Eighteen Iraqis were injured Friday in acts of violence in different areas of the capital, Baghdad, Interior Ministry sources said. The sources told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that unknown gunmen attacked 10 passengers abroad a bus in the Abu Ghraib district today, including three security men in civilian clothes and seven citizens. All 10 were severely injured and the militants escaped the scene, the sources said. And in New Baghdad district, south eastern Baghdad, a bomb planted near one of the walls of the home of an Iraqi police officer blew up at 5:00 a.m. (local time) this morning. Five of his family members were wounded, and the identity of the officer was not disclosed. In Qahtan Square in Yarmouk district, three Iraqi soldiers were wounded when a bomb exploded as three Iraqi Army patrol vehicles were passing by. One of the vehicles was damaged in the explosion. Furthermore, A booby-trapped car exploded in Al-Ameen district, southern Baghdad, but no injuries or damages were reported. |
